About

This blog is going to be less of my day to day training(not that I've written in this lately anyway).

The nuts and bolts of my training will be found on the Animalpak site in the forum.
Here it is Sisyphus is Smiling.

I also have a Q&A on the forum, Sophisticated Savagery, be sure to join the forum.

As for this blog, I will still be posting videos and thoughts and the occasional ranting....Basically, if i want to write about something and not worry about it's content or offending people...it will be on here.  Hopefully i will find the time....hopefully you 'll have the patience.

(I everything written below is very old and I need to update it....)

Jay Nera, CSCS.

I am a RAW POWERLIFTER...I am the #1 Ranked 220lb Raw Powerlifter on POWERLIFTINGWATCH with a #2 Squat of 716.5lbs, #25 Bench Press of 440lbs, #1 Deadlift of 744lbs, and #1 Total at 1901.  But that list does not include Russian 220lb lifter, Powerlifter of the year 2010, Andrey Belyaev, who has posted a raw 2028lb total.

Before PL... Bobsleigh athlete and weightlifting enthusiast, ...before that football player....and in my high school days basketball(yes, believe it...and i was pretty damn good)

I don't care how I look in the mirror...although I do look pretty damn good.  I eat properly, sleep as much as I can....  and train with a high intensity.  LIFT often, Lift fast, Lift heavy, Lift with proper technique,LIFT WITH AGGRESSION...come upstrong.  Period.
This is a sport that breeds a brotherhood.  Its the only sport where you are cheering for your opponent to hit that PR....because I care more about hitting a PR than I do about whether or not I get a medal....
Freakish strength....  It takes dedication over years and years, and a ton of grit and guts,.... and the acceptance that its not about external glory.  GRIT, GUTS, INTERNAL GLORY.  I SET GOALS AND CHALLENGE MYSELF TO ACHIEVE THEM.

I love it....i live it.....and im only getting better at loving it and living it.....

This is my training log and journey towards attaining some freakish strength.......one day II will reach the standard I have set for myself. Everybody has the potential to do a lot of remarkable things.  A lot of people are talented but too lazy to develop the skills that will harness their talents and accomplish mastery in their gifted focus.  For me, right now, 2000 lbs in just a belt at 220lbs bodyweight will make me feel as though I have truly developed my 'strength' and achieved mastery in the sport of powerlifting.
